The Future of Design Competition: Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

By entering “The Future of Design” Competition (“Competition”), participants agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). The Competition is organized by Uncaged Innovations, located at 300 Creek View Road, Suite 209, Newark Delaware 19711 (“Organizer”). NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

 

2. Eligibility

  • The Competition is open to fashion designers aged 18 or older at the time of entry. Entrants
    can be located in any country.

 

  • Employees, officers, directors, and agents of the Organizer and their immediate families or household members are not eligible.

 

  • The Organizer reserves the right to verify eligibility and disqualify any entrant at its discretion.

 

3. Competition Period

The Competition begins on 21/ 04 / 2025, and ends on 31 / 07 / 2025, (“Competition Period”). Entries received after the deadline will not be considered. (Phase 1 pre selection entry deadline 21/ 05 /2025, Phase 2 finalists final work entry 15/ 07 /2025)

 

4. How to Enter

  • To enter, participants must submit an original design concept using Uncaged’s plant-based leather through the application form available at https://uncagedinnovations.com/contest

 

  • Each entry must include visual representation(s) and a short description of the design.

 

  • Only one (1) entry per person is allowed. Incomplete or non-compliant entries will be disqualified.

 

5. Intellectual Property & Confidentiality

  • All entrants retain full ownership of their submitted designs.

 

  • The Organizer agrees to keep all designs confidential unless the entrant is selected as a winner.

 

  • Winning entries may be publicly disclosed and promoted, and winners grant the Organizer a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use submitted materials for promotional purposes.

 

  • Entrants warrant that their submissions are original, do not infringe on any third-party rights, and comply with applicable laws.

 

6.  Judging and Selection

  • Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of qualified judges selected by the Organizer based on creativity, originality, innovation, sustainability, and fit with Uncaged’s material.

 

  • The judging panel will select a group of finalists, from which one grand prize winner will be chosen.

 

  • The Organizer reserves the right to substitute judges or modify the judging criteria at its sole discretion.

 

7. Prizes

  • The grand prize includes up to 100 sq meters of complementary material from Uncaged to bring entrants first piece or collection to market and the opportunity for professional exposure via Uncaged’s platform and partners. Additional non-cash opportunities may be awarded at Organizer’s discretion.

  • All federal, state, and local taxes are the responsibility of the winner.

  • No substitution, transfer, or cash redemption of any prize is permitted, except by Organizer.

 

8. Notification and Publicity

  • Finalists and winners will be notified via email by 31 / 07 / 2025. Failure to respond within five (5) days may result in disqualification. Organizer reserves the right to delay this date and will notify Entrants via email if it is delayed.

 

  • By entering the Competition, finalists and winners agree to participate in promotional activities related to the Competition without additional compensation, including but not limited to interviews, photo shoots, videos, and event appearances.

 

  • The Organizer may publicly display and promote finalist and winning designs on its website, social media, marketing materials, and at live or virtual events.

 

  • Finalists and winners grant the Organizer a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use their name, likeness, design(s), biography, and any other materials submitted or created in connection with the Competition for promotional, marketing, and publicity purposes, in any media, now known or later developed.

 

  • The Organizer agrees to credit the designer when displaying or promoting their work.

 

9. Non-Disparagement.

Entrant agrees that they will not make, or cause to be made, any disparaging, negative or adverse statements whatsoever, whether in public or private, and whether written, oral or otherwise, concerning the Judges and Organizer or its agents, attorneys, directors, employees, officers or shareholders, or its or their respective businesses, products or services.

 

10. Limitation of Liability & Release

  • Entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Organizer, affiliates, agents, and representatives from any liability for injuries, losses, or damages of any kind resulting from participation in the Competition or acceptance/use of any prize.

 

  • The Organizer is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries or technical malfunctions.

 

11. Data Privacy

Personal information collected will be used solely for the purposes of administering the Competition and in accordance with the Organizer’s Privacy Policy.

 

12. Governing Law

These Terms and the Competition shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York. All disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in New York County, New York. Entrants waive the right to a jury trial.

13. Modification and Termination

The Organizer reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the Competition or these Terms at its sole discretion.
